  1. Can I change my password?
Yes you can go to your My Forums page and click on My Preferences. You can change your password for logging into Delphi Forums there.

  2. How do I change my Membername?
Once a Membername is created on Delphi Forums, it cannot be changed. If you have another email address, you can use it to sign up for a new account on Delphi Forums, with the Membername of your choosing. If you don't have a second email address currently, you can get one for free at any of several Web-based services, such as Hotmail or Yahoo!

  3. How do I change my Nickname?
If you are a paid member, you can change your default nickname for Delphi Forums' Chat rooms and Message Boards by visiting your My Forums page, then click on MyPreferences. From there, you can make whatever change you like.

  4. How do I update the email address that is attached to my Membername?
You can change the email address that is attached to your Delphi Forums account by going to your My Forums page, then click on My Preferences. From there, you can update your email address.

  5. I updated my email address, but the old one still shows on my login page!
The old address is written in your browser's local cookie, so that is why it still appears. If you can't delete what is there to replace it with the new address, then try using the 'other account' link that appears on the login screen. This will reload the login screen and give you an opportunity to type in a new account name. Also keep in mind you can login with the same Membername all the time, regardless of how often you change your email address.

  6. When I try to update my email address, it says that the new address is already in use!
It sounds as though you have another Delphi Forums account that has that email address attached to it. In order to successfully update your email address on Delphi Forums, you must specify an address that is not already in use for another Delphi Forums account. Even if you are no longer using the other account, or cancelled it in the past, it would not be purged from our system. If you want to use an email address on one account that is already in use on another account, you'll need to login to the other account, go to My Forums, click on My Preferences, and change that account's email address to something else. Then log out, log back in to the first account, and make the change that you had originally wanted to make. At this time there's no easier way of swapping account info around - choose carefully when changing your account status and specifying an email address!

  7. I want to login to Delphi Forums with another account but can't get the name on the login screen!
To access Delphi Forums using a Membername that does not already appear on your 'Membername or Email Address' drop-down, try deleting the information that is already there, and replace it with the account information you wish to use.

If that is not possible, then use the 'other account' link to fill in the Membername or Email address that you wish to use, and the 'Password' line to fill in its corresponding password. After logging in, subsequent visits to Delphi Forums will include that new login information in the drop-down list.

  8. How do I cancel my account?
You can cancel your Delphi Forums account by visiting your My Forums page, then click on 'My Preferences.' You'll see a cancel option on that page. Keep in mind that this disables your Delphi Forums account - it does not completely purge your information from Delphi Forums' records. If you wish to create another Delphi Forums account in the future, you will still need to submit an email address and Membername that differs from what you previously used on Delphi Forums.

If you do not want to 'lock up' the email address associated with the account you are closing, it is strongly reccommended that you change the address to a non-working one, BEFORE you close the account. This will allow you to 'reuse' the email address with your new account.

  9. Do people have to become members of Delphi Forums in order to participate in my Forum?
Users of our Forums are asked to register so that we can show them pertinent messages (e.g. those they haven't read yet), be provided the personalized features such as the My Forums page, and be an identifiable member of a strong community of people.

Registration is a one-time event, and takes just a minute to complete. After that you need only log in with your Membername and Password when you visit. You can even choose to have your Password saved on the login screen, so that you won't need to type it each time.

  10. I forgot my password. What do I do?
If you've forgotten or lost the password to login with your Membername, just click the 'forgot password' link on the login screen. A new one will be emailed to the address on record for the membername. You may then change it to something you would prefer after logging in with the new password.

  11. The 'Forgot Password' link doesn't work! I haven't received the new password. What do I do now?
If you have allowed a full 24 hours for delivery of the new password, and it has not arrived within that time, you may need to go to Member Services with a temporarily created membername to seek more direct help.

  12. I'm not getting email notifications and/or My Forums mailings. What can I do?
First, make sure you have email notifications enabled by going to your My Forums page and clicking on the "My Preferences" link. Scroll down to "E-mail Notification" and make sure it's checked. If that's not the problem, your email software, Internet service provider, or company IT department may be blocking email from Delphi Forums or marking it as spam. One simple way to help make sure you get Delphi mailings is to add mailer@mailer.prospero.com (Prospero is Delphi's parent company) to your address book. If you already have an email notification or My Forums email in your inbox, just follow these instructions to add mailer@mailer.prospero.com to your address book:

    AOL Version 9.0
    AOL Version 8.0
    AOL Netmail
    Earthlink
    Hotmail
    MSN
    Outlook
    Outlook 2003
    Yahoo!
